Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:We watched white house down tonight, and i feel like i wanted to hate it the whole time because it was so cliche and predictable, and i hate Jamie fox and don't care for channing tatum, but it was a fun movie and i mostly enjoyed it. Olympus has fallen was a much better movie, but white house down did entertain us
I watched this on the plane back from Thialand the other week. I felt exactly the same way...

Prisoners.

Great movie, really good thriller with a fucking A grade cast. Is Hugh Jackman perfect? What the fuck that guy is talented.
Even if it was a little bit long, its 2 hours and a half of pure tension.

My best friend is obsessed with trashing this to me, from what I can remember "the twist is bullshit" and "and when they started injecting all that christian bullshit I was just done. I think mark wallberg is responsible for that. I think he was involved with this somehow"

He produced the movie.
I mean the story is ok, the christian stuff...is ok. I liked the characters and their construction, all based in little details, in minor information placed here and there.
There are some minor plot holes mayber, but overall the movie grabbed me.

watching man of steel for the first time. I don't really give a shit abut the superman character so I'm interested to see what they do with it. I hated star trek but have enjoyed the new star trek movies

Mixed feelings about that one, Stip. I think when viewed through the appropriate lens, it has a lot of good stuff going on, but it's also riddled with problems. Let me know what you think.

I watched that a few years ago. I quite enjoyed it. The triple storyline makes it pretty interesting. It's fairly open to interpretation the way the stories connect.

Finally got around to watching the critically acclaimed Danish film "The Hunt", from last year. Mads Mikkelsen is amazing.
