you're in the right thread. now call yourself pathetic and fat too.
But I'm not fat. Pathetic, but not fat. You don't know me, mary.
only fat and pathetic is allowed here, please exit at once.
So mary, what do you plan to post for your 5,000th post?
something retarded with a side of old school RM should do it.
whats your post count since mid december?
I don't pay attention to it. but did just notice that once you hit 5000 posts here, your profile no longer shows which thread you're most active in, and I'm a little put off about it.
probably something sarge did

You're scared, I know.

Too cold to run again this morning. So I did thirty minutes of cardio & core work. Then another thirty weight-lifting. Then a stretching cool down. Felt great. But it's been so long since I touched free weights. I'm sure my arms are gonna scream at me tomorrow.

I'm never asleep long enough to wake up in a cold sweat. :?

First time back at the gym in nearly a week. Modest workout, pretty good but nothing special.

First day back after a near two months break. A swim this morning and will go for a 5 or 6 mile run after the hockey game. Am signed up for a half marathon in May which I want a decent time for and will try another triathlon later in the summer.

I didn't get any cardio in this week, im gonna have to make sure i do next week but the weight training this past week rain late most every day and has me pretty sore on the off days but its been great. Did 2 days for legs and 2 days for upper body and it was all a bit different from what i had been doing the last 2 months with the weight machines at the gym and i can really tell it was time for a change

What's your goal time?
Swim done for today, now off for a run. Goal time is sub 1:50. If I drop some biking to work in order to run a little more I'm sure I can get sub 1:45. It comes down to how much biking I want to drop. Too many competing interests. The weekend before the half there's a men biking camp I'd like to do in California but that would require more biking and less running in the lead up to both.

1:50 is a very respectable time. That should put you in the top third of finishers. Good luck! If you need some bad advice, just ask.

Monday's workout kicked my ass
Did squads and lunges, then incline bench press and flat bench dumbell flys, then dumbell shoulder press and lateral raise and finished with tricep extensions and tricep press with the rope on the smith machine.

Last night seemed a bit easier
Did rows and pull downs, Scott curls and dumbell curls, then calf extensions and leg curls. Was supposed to do deadlifts last night but i was on my own and hadn't done them before so i didn't wanna try and mess up my back, ill try those on Friday

running question: when you guys reach a point that you are comfortable with (1 mile, 3 miles, 20 miles for t2b), whatever it may be, do you go further or increase your pace and try to finish the same distance faster? im not sure where to go w/ my runs now that ive been doing it for about a month.

That obviously depends what your goal is, but generally you should tackle distance/endurance first, then work on speed.

But you can do both. Run your normal 3 miles (or whatever distance) 2 or 3 times a week, then throw in a speed day. Say 4 X .5 mile repeats at 85 to 90 percent effort. So if your normal run is at a 9-minute mile pace for 3 miles, run your .5 mile repeats at 8-minutes (maybe 7:30) or so. Rest/walk for 2 minutes between repeats. Then once you are satisfied with your speed at 3 miles, push it to 4 or 5 miles.

 awesome ideas, thanks homie. i actually increased my pace yesterday, and today i did my normal pace for a longer distance, so i might just keep alternating. im not really sure what my goals are yet, its not like a bench press where i can see how much weight i wanna lift. this is more about how i feel at the end of the run. i think i will try doing both though, great advice.

For me it is all about how long i want to run, i usually don't want to run more then 30 minutes so once i wasable to run for 30 minutes straight i started increasing the speed, but if you are up for running longer then you can work on that as well.

Im afraid to see how little ill be able to do right now, in the last 2 weeks I've only run one time and it was only for a mile, im gonna probably have to build up again
