No problem! You had every reason to expect a big day. My hitting has really come around, by my starters are still horrible.

Best day of the season for me so far. Hopefully we can keep it going after the break.

I'd be opposed to doubling it, but I'm not opposed to adding another nine days/eighteen games (which would bring the regular season up to 72 games). My only concern is the general interest of teams not in the hunt waning over the stretch. Otherwise, 54 games seems like a good length. There's a chance we'll have our four playoff teams pretty decisively at that point.

Number two overall pick Joe Morgan appears to be giving as little of a return on the investment as #3 overall pick Steve Carlton has. The rest of the top five appears to be living up to their billing.

Unless #BRL or TBAMTS or my team have an unexpected 14-4 run down the stretch in them, then yeah, it would appear so. The cream rose to the top pretty quickly this season.

If I finish up 18-0 I may have an outside chance of squeaking in.

He hasn't been great, but I'm not
too disappointed because I feel like his numbers are decent compared to other 2B (although it's hard to say since we don't really have a way to sort by position). He's basically done what I was hoping for, just slightly worse... good OBP, a few steals, and a bit of power.
If I flipped my Boggs and Morgan picks, I would be really happy with the results for both of them.

Outside of Gooden and Reggie Jackson, id have to flip my entire draft to be happy with the production.

I would give myself a 2/4 on my draft strategy.
1. Load up on high OBP guys for the top of the lineup. Morgan (.386), Boggs (.423) and Olerud (.384) WIN
2. Plug in a bunch of big power hitters for the middle of the lineup. Piazza helps, but Griffey, Winfield and Strawberry have been awful, and the back-up plans have been worse. LOSE
3. Pick up some mid-late round pitchers who have good advanced stats and might be a bit underrated. Absolute disaster. LOSE
4. Pick a bunch of typical closer-types in the second half. For the most part, my bullpen has been awesome. WIN
I guess there's still time to turn things around and make some of these look better, but it obviously hasn't worked.

My biggest downfall was the Fergie Jenkins picks. After I made it, I went and looked at the stats from the last tournament, and realized how awful he was. So i tried to load up on decent/adequate guys to be fill in starters (reuschel/higuera) and they haven't been enough. Also Rickey Henderson has not been nearly what he was supposed to be. Sal Bando was an absolute disaster as high as i took him.
However a lot of the guys that I picked up late (Harrah/Tenace/Murphy) have been good.

I was accused of being the new skitch and it seemed derogatory. Any idea what that means, pal?

Yeah, it's pretty worthless out there for the most part.
