It's the last one because it's the most important one. It's the headliner. Bacon and lettuce are the support.

the lettuce and tomato are like the professor and mary ann from the gilligan's island theme song. after awhile they just referred to them both as "the rest" and moved on.

You've got it backwards. The song originally grouped them together as "the rest," then was changed to actually name them. Just like one with an adolescent bacon-fixated mind thinks it's all about the crunchy pork, but eventually one matures to accept the tomato's role as the real star of the show
