I was looking at the previous album tracklists with LBs songs in mind, and it might look silly but i see some diversity similarities with Binaural's tracklist (not that they sound alike)

Lightning Bolt / Breakerfall (Whoish sounding rockers)
Mind Your Manners / Gods Dice (fastest rockers on the album)
Getaway / Grievance (groovy rockers)
Sirens / Thin Air (poppy love ballads)
Let the records Play / Rival (Stone's odd-riff mid rockers)
Future Days / Parting Ways (slow melodic ending with piano, strings and stuff)
Sleeping By Myself / Soon Forget (melodic ukulele stuff)

These are with '?' cause we still haven't heard them:
Infallible / Insignificance (moody-groovy rockers) ?
Yellow Moon / Of The Girl (country sounding) ?
Pendulum / Sleight Of Hand (experimental atmospheric sound) ?
My Father's Son / Light Years (melodic midtempo) ?

p.s. can't find any association for Swallowed Whole on Binaural.

I'd most like to see Getaway on TV. Hoping for an SNL performance so that there's multiple songs. I love the TV performances. Speaking of which, here's one of the all time greats:

If they play some unheard stuff on TV, that'll be fantastic.

That's a band at its peak right there in 1996.

I'm going to run head on and blind into the realm of delusion and say wouldn't it be cool if they played a b-side.

I'd settle for an album track we haven't heard yet, or getaway though i guess.

If such a small thing deters you from wanting to hear a song live, you should really stick to studio performances.

I remember taping that Letterman Hail, Hail performance in college on a vcr. I love YouTube. I still have the tape, but it's too much of a hassle to bust it out along with my old VCR.

So from what we've heard so far (and what we think we'll get with the other songs) is this sounding like a Fall (Autumn) album? I guess I mean do all the songs have a Fall-ish feel?

I get that from Vs. and Vitalogy.

I count really mucking up as the Thin Air fill or the All or None solo from Benaroya. Even the All or None solo wasn't too major.

But to each there own; I definitely do not listen to the drums as closely as you do

Harmless has a fine ear for drums, and he's probably the toughest drum critic here. If Matt fucks up, no matter how subtle, Harmless will find it.

Correlating albums with season is an interesting thought because I have always done it. I always thought of vs and vitalogy as winter feeling, no code as a contemplative fall, ten as summery, yield spring like riot act and binaural good winter stuck inside listens, Backspacer as light summery, s/t as spring...this album so far feels very autumnal to me as well. I fully get that this probably sounds strange. Ah...my first post on this thread in 4 days, aka, 350 pages or so.
