Lmao thinking that the Bon Jovi of the 90s on their 30th year could put out anything as deep or as interesting as you're suggesting.PHATJ wrote:The nit picking of Who Ever Said and Seven O’Clock is the epitome of RM cringeworthy. These are two of the best songs PJ has written in at least 20 years. “But that middle part loses my attention because it’s over 20 seconds long!” Take some Ritalin and stfu. Backspacer is calling your name, you don’t deserve better than that.
That's cool, but stifling conversation about specific musical elements by calling it cringeworthy and saying "go back to Backspacer" (?) is a bit of a dick move; personally I find it interesting to talk about how songs are constructed, what works and doesn't work about the inner workings of a composition. You glossed over what I said (that the issue isn't that there's an extended middle section, but that said section becomes repetitive towards the end by pivoting to the four main chords that make up the bulk of the song) and dismissed it as nitpicking. You weren't even debating the opinion itself, but the fact that it was expressed at all.PHATJ wrote:Say whatever you want. I can still call your opinion asinine.theplatypus wrote:Too bad dude I've barely talked about this album and you're not gonna shout me down for having a less-than-glowing thing to say about one part of one song.
Jorge, have any opinion you want. Like whatever parts of whatever songs you want. My post was meant as only semi-serious and also as a joke. I also enjoy debating the types of things you mentioned. But sometimes I don’t care about having the debate at all. Sometimes it’s more fun to say “that opinion sucks!” in a slightly more theatrical way. That’s all I was doing. Please don’t let one post ruin your day. You are permitted to continue to have terrible Gigaton opinions.theplatypus wrote:That's cool, but stifling conversation about specific musical elements by calling it cringeworthy and saying "go back to Backspacer" (?) is a bit of a dick move; personally I find it interesting to talk about how songs are constructed, what works and doesn't work about the inner workings of a composition. That was never a goal of mine.spike wrote:don't back down, phatj. you can defeat him.
Congratulations. Keep adding up those small victories. You’ll get there some day.theplatypus wrote:Really feel like I won this one
i just wanted to see if he'd follow through instead of backing down once someone responds semi-intelligently, per usual.theplatypus wrote:Really feel like I won this one

i guess someone wanted attention. if pearl jam ever entered bon jovi territory it was on the last 2 albums, not in the 90s.RockPusher wrote:Seconded!warehouse wrote:what in the actual fuck?lecherouslittlestump wrote:Lmao thinking that the Bon Jovi of the 90s on their 30th year could put out anything as deep or as interesting as you're suggesting.PHATJ wrote:The nit picking of Who Ever Said and Seven O’Clock is the epitome of RM cringeworthy.
