I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Amazing. Sandler is god. Can't wait. Don't want to know anything other than what I saw in the first trailer, have been avoiding reviews. But I'm so excited for this. No idea if it will make it my area, though.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Felt good to have some time off and watch a few films:
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum One thing I adore about the sequels is the ease to suspend my disbelief and just enjoy the ride. The locales were far more sprawling than Chapter 2 but the juxtaposition with the fight scenes, even as they grew larger, worked really well.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi Second viewing. This was an example of being in the right mindset to approach a piece of art, I detested this film the first go ‘round but found myself really enjoying just about every bit of it this time. Some of the acting still felt disjointed though and I simply don’t like Adam Driver in anything.
The Irishman I certainly didn’t hate it but I did not love it, Scorsese has been hit or miss with me for decades though. That said the performances really carried a film where very little happens, DeNiro and Pacino were admirable endeavors but I felt Pesci was the star at the top. Paquin playing Peggy was an interesting choice, I was almost aching for something to happen but perhaps the fact that nothing did is the real genius move. The running time never entered my mind.

Lucy In The Sky.
The movie looks beautiful and its very well made, but damn its so boring and unfocused. Portman is all over the place. She lost it.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Had my first Alamo Drafthouse experience. The theater was fine, but I don't think I'll be dining there again; I felt like I had to, because my sister wanted me to experience the novelty of having dinner at a movie theater, but I found it so distracting! And it was so dark! Next time I'll just watch the movie and maybe have a beer.
The movie was Bombshell, which was little more than a fairly impressive display of makeup and costume design.
