That might have been the worst attempted rule change I've ever seen. What was wrong with the way it was before?

I have no problem with having a replay system, but they have to do something to make it work better. It's awful watching managers slowly saunter out to start small talk with the umpire while waiting for someone to give him the thumbs up. They should have to make the call right away.

It should. And I don't know the answer to that. But that would fall under that "they have to do something to make it work better" part I was talking about. They should be able to have the manager challenge the play, get the headphones on and make the final call within a matter of seconds. The waiting around thing is ridiculous. They're done a horrible job implementing it.

Agreed. I'd take a better replay system over no replay system. But I'd take no replay over what we have now.

Guys, its been a couple of weeks into a brand new system. I am sure they are aware of the flaws and a lot of them will be resolved as people become more aware of it. Additionally, the time wasted isnt really all that much worse than manager and player arguments. id say about 80 percent of the replay challanges ive seen have lasted 2 minutes or less.

Now I agree there are far better ways to do replay, and I really hope they evolve into an NHL like system. I really hate "challenge" systems because it penalizes teams for officiating mistakes, But getting rid of it because its "taking too long" is just silly.

No doubt. Give it time CHUDwick. I think the current system will improve quite a bit, but hopefully it is short lived in its current incarnation and gets replaced by a constantly monitored central system.

I know, but when the sane folks like yourself start complaining out of impatience, it lets the crazies (HUMAN ELEMENT!) feel like they're right.

If nothing else, I think we can all agree that Jonathan Papelbon is way, way worse than the new replay system.
