Depending on the last episode of season five, after this season the show will most likely be caught up to the books in most of the key roles (Dany, Jon, Tyrion, Cersei, etc). A couple of places they have already passed the books. There are some somewhat minor book stories they might do in season 6, that they have skipped thus far.

Guys I'm also pretty sure that when Drogo roared into Dany's face, her ear drums would have burst.

Where does the Grantland guy get all the histories? Is it just from the main books?

World of Ice and Fire, the Dunk and Egg Novellas, there was a Novella about the Dance with Dragons titled something like the Prince and the Queen.

Thanks! I've read the Dunks but wasn't aware of a World of Ice and Fire.

a Wiki of Ice and Fire is a great resource, but warning to show watchers, the wiki is dark and full of spoilers

I think this was covered after the episode where Ser Grandfather got shanked, but: they're around, but as we've seen before, they're not a very capable urban fighting force. When the few at the Great Games got into the open pit, they did fine until there were too many SOTH to handle.

I've gotten lost in that wiki so many times. One thing just leads to another.

There's an apparent copy of the "Previously on GOT" that will appear on tomorrow's episode floating around online. I would STRONGLY suggest not watching it, whether you're a show-only-watcher or a book reader.

Why not? I mean, if I don't watch it now I'll still see it tomorrow night before the episode itself airs.

If this "previously on" is real, and if what it suggests happens...trust me, you'll want to be surprised. I suggest DVR'ing it and skipping the "previously on."
