How much money do you want to bet that unnamed "Landlord" in the story who chose to rent the building to Chase Bank instead of working out an arrangement with Easy Street is actually Ed?

Well shit, Ed's mad that Easy Street is closing and Chase Bank happens to be the new tenants. I'm not sure his "Fuck Chase Bank" counts as a diatribe against all banking practices. Otherwise, Oklahoma City should be rioting over him calling them all fuckers for stealing the Sonics.

Seems pretty hypocritical for him to be angry at Chase Bank for rising from the ashes of Easy Street Records.

looks like they just relocated:
"We recently signed a new 15-year lease at our original store in West Seattle, where we will carry on the Easy Street tradition of great in-stores, yummy breakfasts, tasty vinyl, and overall, an excellent selection of music. We hope to see you there soon."
so is 'fuck chase bank' even merited?
it almost seems like an unqualified fuck you to the new bank tenant, in front of 16,000 people, is an easy cheap shot / convenient way to prop up what's left of Ed's anti-corporate hero persona

Man, I could swear at the show Ed actually called it CitiBank, and I was thinking he had it wrong because it was Chase renting the old Easy Street building. Chase didn't rise from the ashes of Easy Street and ES didn't move. They closed one location because the owner of the building raised the rent to more than Matt wanted to pay. So they liquidated the inventory as well as the fixtures and artwork and cleared out. That's my understanding of it.

it's just that the memory of the early pandering is still so powerful

Well... I pulled better than 10c tickets from TM for several shows, so unless all the members with 300,xxx+ numbers are going to pick GA or are happy sitting behind GA, it doesn't make a ton of sense for them to stay in. And tickets are the reason most people are still in the 10c.

I've seen where you sit. There's no way you got better than where you would have been.

After Charlotte I might take my chances with ticketmaster and just not join when my membership is up later this month. I have a low number and my seats in Charlotte were sh*t.

Sorry, for shows I did not win 10c tickets to: WOR1, BK2, VAN (I did not end up attending this one).

It wasn't until 2005 that I had the money or job stability to go to shows outside of my local area, so I am trying to make up for lost time before Jeff and Stone finally quit. Plus if I didn't go to a bunch of shows and complain about the other fans and frequency of rarities, warehouse would have nothing to do here.

Well, I mean, to each their own.
But honestly unless it comes up in this forum, I constantly forget that that's even a thing. "Oh, yeah, people really do go see these guys live more than a handful of times, I guess." And it surprises me every time, for reasons I'm completely unaware of.
