The Molly Shannon scene in J&SBR is one of the most awkward and unfunny things I've ever seen

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

A lot of the humor in the scene hinges on the inherent comedy of the homophones "wait" and "weight"

why are you proud? I saw every Smith movie. I was a huge fan back then with Chasing Amy, Mallrats and Dogma. But he has been sucking for a loooong time and this flick is just plain awful. Its worst that the previous Jay and Silent Bob, which was horrible.

Saw Angel Has Fallen. Decent action movie, but nothing really special.

I'm just saying a lot of people wouldn't even give him a chance given his recent output. I think it's cool that you still do. I'm trying to fucking compliment you, I don't know why you want to make it weird.

I liked Red State. But I don't think I've seen any of his other recent works.

That seems like a really common critique of Kevin Smith and I honestly just don't understand that. The guy has always come across as genuine to me. He's always seemed like someone who really appreciates that he gets to do this at all. *shrugs*
