You play 2 fucking series. By playing the same games over and over you are missing out on so much. Does that make sense?

Mass Effect was developed for 360. Back to the Future was not filmed for VHS. It's film is higher fidelity than home systems were capable of playing until now. It's a stupid fucking comparison.

1. I don't only play two series. Yes, I love Mass Effect to death. Yes, I think the COD series is the pinnacle of its genre. But when did I ever say they are all I ever play? That's absurd. I have no idea why you would jump to that conclusion.

2. How is it a stupid comparison? The goal of each is to improve the quality of the versions available for consumption. It seems like you're being extremely narrow-minded to the entire concept of remastered games for some arbitrary reason. Is the remastered version a better experience than the original in any way? If the answer is yes, then it's not really a cash grab. A cash grab would be if the company released an inferior product with little effort because they just want money and aren't trying to deliver a worthwhile product, which certainly is not the case with most remastered games.

3. I'm sorry if I came off like a jerk, but I am honestly frustrated by most of the interactions I've had with you in this thread. I genuinely come away not understanding your arguments, like with the whole The Last of Us discussion in which you obstinately stuck to making broad, declarative statements without actually explaining how the game does what you're saying, regardless of how many times I tried to get you to clarify. Or the way you continously respond with dismissive, reductive generalizations about how I need to "broaden my horizons" when I talk about things like ME or COD, regardless of what I'm actually saying about them. That's why I said your posts in this thread were inarticulate; it has nothing to do with whether or not you like ME or COD.

Can you assholes at least agree that we need a KOTOR remake?

I could never get into Mass Effect. I tried playing the first one, but it was really boring.

Mass Effect was so great in some areas, so awful in others. It was tough to love. Still haven't played 3.

There's a pretty steep learning curve in that first game. A lot of it is such a massive info dump on the player that I could see it coming off as boring. And the gameplay isn't anything special. But that game is all about characters, narrative, and mood, which take a little time to grow on the player, I think.

That's totally fair. The combat is definitely nothing special, especially in ME1. And I always looked at the planet exploration/mining stuff in ME1 as a mood enhancer instead of real gameplay. Come to think of it, I've always kinda considered the combat to mostly be a mood/experience enhancer, too. But I can certainly understand why someone wouldn't be into that; even I was kinda glad they ditched the planet exploration in ME2 and ME3.

I pretty much just overlook all the gameplay flaws because I love the writing, characters, and overall experience so much.

Yeah...that fucking ending. I try not to think about it; it's too painful. Really, ME3 in its entirety is problematic; I'm surprised more people don't mention that its problems are bigger than just the ending.

But 1 and 2...

oh well. its not really turn based unless you want it to be, but the combat is pretty complex by today's standards. The character/story stuff in those games are top notch, but its all text.

Yeah, this is largely the problem. Without that cinematic immersion, I just have trouble connecting with the experience.
