I'll say this. I don't think Trump really meant to tell people to inject Lysol or shove a UV ray up their ass. He heard some stories about treatments that he didn't fully understand, and he decided to brainstorm about COVID cures while standing at a national podium.

Unfortunately, some people, probably his supporters, will have listened to that and try do treat themselves with dangerous products and will hurt themselves.

It'd be nice if we had a President who discussed this stuff with experts BEFORE being on stage, and scripted his speech with people who could give him honest feedback about whether something would work, and what Americans might think if he says "inject people with disinfectant." Or, might be willing to say, the next day, "I mispoke, please don't do that."

Fuck, a President that could do SOME of that, would be miles better for America.

agree, he has the intellect of a 3rd grader and was trying to be solutions-oriented

unfortunately while the cameras are rolling is the wrong place to evidence that you dont understand that clorox in the bloodstream will kill more than the virus

In other news, the amateur-hour Trump administration continues to implode under the weight of an actual crisis, as reporting indicates HHS secretary Alex Azar is on the way out. I'm by no means a fan of Alex Azar...his position and the way he's operated in that role are shining examples of the corruption and cronyism that defines this administration. Imagine having to weigh, in the middle of a pandemic, firing your Health & Human Services Secretary (or really any cabinet position), because now that the heat is on you realize he was a fucking idiot that you never should have hired.

He didn't understand that the guy was talking about humid environments and infected surfaces tho.
