What is your chaff?
SBWM - Flat out don't like it.
Quick Escape - I'm really torn on this. Loved it out of the gate, but it's becoming sort of tiresome. Really looking forward to the live version. Tracks like 1/2 Full and Help, Help went from meh to amazing once I heard them live.
Never Destination - I enjoy it, but they do it better elsewhere in the catalog. Wish Ed had kept quiet during the bridge.
Buckle Up - Meh.
River Cross - This one really depends on my mood. Sometimes it really hits me, sometimes it really bores me.
Does not compute.
REALL great album yet 5 of the tracks you generally dont like!

I really like Never Destination and maybe Quick Escape! I just don't know if they'll have much staying power. An album's got to be really strong for me to listen all the way through these days; way to easy to make a playlist of the songs I really want to hear and skip the rest.

Retrograde really sticks out.
As a highlight, yes!
Definitely starting to agree that it's better than its reputation around here...
I've come around on it! Its still bottom third for this album...but i like it more than anything on the back half of Lightning Bolt.

It's still every bit as good as Yield.

I love Retrograde it has overtaken Comes Then Goes as my fav “ballad” from the album.
Never Destination rocks I can’t get this out my head atm.
Ed delivers So many great lines on that one. The last bridge/outro for example.
Current Rankings
Who Ever Said
SBWM
Quick Escape
DOTC
Retrograde
Never Destination
Comes Then Goes
Seven Oclock
River Cross
Take The Long Way
Buckle Up
Alright

Having Buckle Up that low is borderline a bannable offense.

Is Seven O'Clock still a favourite around here?
I still don't understand the love for it. It has some nice moments but after Retrograde it's the other song I like the least.
Still, my complaints are minor because I love the whole album really.

If I put Seven O'Clock on by itself, I don't think it's great. But when I listen to the album, the time it's on, just breezes by. Fits in really well.
Take The Long Way might be the opposite. One of my favorites, but sometimes feels a bit jarring on the album.

I listen to the album about once a day. It's a nice album, settling in around the ST/Riot Act/No Code grouping for me.
Vitalogy/Binaural/Vs./Yield
Ten
ST/Riot Act/No Code/Gigaton
Lightning Bolt
Backspacer

Ok, finally got around to rating this bitch:
Who Ever Said: A Frankenstein song, with no pitchfork-wielding (or Pitchfork-reading) villagers in sight. Love the grumpy chords (started at "all in the delivery...") which resurface a few times throughout. Catchy-as-fuck chorus. IT'S ALIVE! 5 stars.
SBWM: "Will the defendant please stand? We've all done some crazy shit when we're off our tits on drink and drugs but son, you gotta calm down. Stop headbutting this girl's hand. Restraining Order for 2 years, and stop wanking in the bushes." 4 stars.
DotC: I want an axe to break the ice, living in a shotgun shack. Let the water hold me down, drowning in the river. 5 stars.
Quick Escape: The Sandman issue #45, Shep Cayce. 5 stars.
Alright: Mibra skeleton, fleshed out and has a great rack. A-cup elder sister Pendulum is jealous as fuck. 4 stars.
Seven O'Clock: Monday-Friday verses, Saturday night chorus. Will hopefully grow on me. 3.5 stars.
Never Destination: Dad, stop drinking so much coffee, Jesus Christ. 3 stars.
Take The Long Way: Oh Mr Ambassador, with this Soundgarden you are spoiling us. 4 stars.
Buckle Up: "Thanks for coming, not a bad turn out, eh? Yeah mother had been sick for a while, and that slip in the bathroom really finished her off. Ah she was never happy... What's that? Yeah I'm the sole inheritor. At least I was there with her so she wasn't alone when she, y'know... Now, at least, we're- sorry, she's at peace." 4.5 stars.
Comes Then Goes: A starry night campfire song. Well done Edward. 4 stars.
Retrograde: Lightning Bolt and Into The Wild had a daughter, and she was beautiful. 4 stars.
River Cross: It just aint grasping me, team. It's like The Oregon Trail and I keep losing half of my fucking oxen trying to ford it. 2.5 stars.
