In Hiding is average at best. Mediocre Verse and Chorus saved by a brilliant pre-chorus.
Lyrics are terrible.

This is a musician friend of mine whose opinion I trust and value. We agree on a lot when it comes to popular music. He also isn't a die-hard Pearl Jam fan. He was converted during their last US tour. He was lukewarm on Backspacer.

Just thought I'd share what a random civilian thinks.

:peace:

Just for comparison purposes - Amongst the Waves?
No, at this point I'd give that one a 4. I think In Hiding is a pretty average song with weak lyrics that gets saved by an excellent pre-chorus.

A lot of fun live though.
I think the bouncing tempo and the imperfect, warm, 'room sound' nature of that record are what saves it. If it had been on Backspacer, it would have been nearly as big a turkey as Amongst the Waves.

I would be very interested to hear the nu-BoB mix of any of the back catalogue, to be honest.

 pre chorus is the only decent part. Oh and amongst the waves sucks also. Worse even.

I've never been a huge fan. Definite 3 star song for me. Low Light is superior.

If we're Lucky the epk is just Eddie dancing for 20 minutes set to clips from LB.
