Sirens was a big hit and this is the most Sirens-esque, so maybe that's why.

It's certainly the one song on the album which I'd say has the most connective tissue to LB

Other than the use of the 12-string, I don't see it. Sirens is a plodding, leaden song, a very different feel from Retrograde's lighter touch in its first half. I mentioned the comparison before, but take out Eddie and you can easily hear that as Green-era R.E.M.

It's certainly the one song on the album which I'd say has the most connective tissue to LB
I agree but I wouldn't say to Sirens specifically.

Sirens is written, I think, as a much airy song than what we got on the record. They are both mid temp songs. They both have that 'adult' feel (neither is a particularly scrappy song). They aren't clones, but they are clearly coming from the same songwriter and a similar place.

Yea I just had a loud play through with it whilst working. Literally I love every song right now. I love the flow. I look forward to every track and every track brings me immense joy.
