What realization?
That the Prince That Was Promised is actually gender neutral and Dany can fulfill the prophecy.
I mean she is an interpreter.
I'm sad for Maester Aemon, not upset with Missandei.
Got it. Just read the chapter where Sam is in Bravos on his way to Oldtown. I totally forgot he ran into Arya.
I love everything about Sam's journey from The Wall to Oldtown.

Yeah, it really is well done. Feast For Crows is way better with Dance chapters sprinkled in.

It's pretty fucking good on its own too.

Part of me was hoping at least one of the Sandsnakes was going to remain in King's Landing to plot some sort of guerilla uprising...alas...

It was, but it was surrounded by 20-25 page Cersei and Brienne chapters.

Tell me more about House Blackfyre and Varys. Are you saying Varys doesn't actually support Dany?

Here this touches on it a little bit, I'm trying to find the better essay I read on the subject that lays it all out:

That's fascinating.
Spoiler: show
"So, basically the Blackfyres are the absolute long con play in the game of thrones."

Does that mean that Varys wants to put Aegon on the throne instead of Dany? Or is he interested in the throne himself, do we think?

I'm hesitant to bring up anything about the possibility/likeliness of Rhaegar marrying Lyanna in the show thread

What in the books suggests they were married?

more to the accounts of the tourney at Harrenhal, Lyanna not wanting to marry Robert, and Rhaegar's obsession with the Prince that was Promised and the dragon needing 3 heads, it would point to Lyanna going with Rhaegar willingly. If anything, the targs with their polygamy and the prophecy, getting married to Rhaegar seems like a likely scenario.

Yeah I definitely see that Lyanna went willingly. Or even if she went begrudgingly she was still a willing partner to Rhaegar. It's kind of a leap to go from willing paramour to secret wife though. I know there's precedent as a Targ but that's literally the only evidence.

like i said in the show thread, i think Jon's parentage has little to do with him sitting on the iron throne, so you're probably right

I guess the strongest suggestive evidence of a marriage would be Rhagaer's obsession with the Prince that was Promised prophecy. If he though they were fathering the fulfillment of a prophecy he would want that fulfillment to be legitimate and be heir to the throne.

But is Jon older than Aegon and his sister? It might seem pointless to make him legitimate if he was a second son and not in line for the throne.
