2 minutes @ 4 mph

though the 6.5 isnt nearly as bad as it was when i first started. not sure how i did it but managed to drop 4.5 lbs this past week. hopefully it continues in this direction

Nicely done man, keep at it! Try and add a couple more minutes on at a time, even if it is at a lower speed. You can be getting towards 20 minutes at the end of the month which would be great strides.

Yeah, they have been receiving really good reviews. I actually tried a pair on before I bought my latest pair of NBs. The sockliner is flawless with virtually no seams. Going sockless would be no problem. The toebox feels roomy as hell, which I'm a big fan of. They are also under 7 ounces and feel great. But they have a 9mm heel to toe drop, which in my book means they are NOT really minimalist shoes. I also worry about their durability, the outside of the shoe feels too soft and seems like they wouldn't last long on our desert trails.

So, I guess I'd say if they are your first step into the minimalist world and you are NOT planning on running trails, I'd go for it.
K thanks. No trails. I don't think. Sometimes I don't know how crazy I wanna get, yaknow?

this is actually fairly kickass. i think if most of us spiked our runs like that 10 mins would be a good work out. or in t2b's case, a good warm up.

Does anyone have any products to reduce skin irritation from running. My trouble spot is the crease where my balls meet my legs.

I've kept up my routine during my hiatus. I'm trying to add a little to my weights, at least my upper body. My squats are starting to hurt my knees so I doubt I will add more there. But I'm not too worried about my legs; they're little but are better toned than my core.
I'm still on the treadmill too when I hit the gym. I've done a few outdoor runs/walks now that the weather is getting nice. Starting to be that I can use that nut balm too.

That's awesome!

I'm going for a 405 pound deadlift in a few weeks, I can't imagine trying to press 300 pounds, though.

Always bugged me that I never hit that mark when I was competing, solid work man.

405 was always a cool weight because you didn't have to hassle with different plates, good luck.

I deadlifted 385 for a single on Tuesday. I had done 365 for a single 3 times (previous days), before I attempted the 385 and man, this one felt so much harder. The initial pull from the floor was brutal; once I got the bar to my knees it wasn't too bad, but I'm sure it was ugly as could be, probably a rounded back on the initial pull. My plan was to do 385 again before attempting 405 but if it goes the way it did this time I might wait a little bit before I go for the 405.

Ever consider a ten pound increase?

Yeah, that's probably what I should have planned from the jump. Long story short, I've been doing 10 pound increases every 4 weeks for a while, but that's not 1 rep maxing out. When I hit 365 I wanted to max out and hit 405, so I figured two 20 pound increases for a single rep each time wouldn't be that bad over an 8 week period, so I kinda adjusted it. I've been really patient, not rushing it this whole time, but getting this close makes me really want to hit it and then ease away from lifting maximal weights again. Patience is probably the best idea.

I was always wary toward back injuries so I always kept it slow, never had any issues just felt it wise. But I always incorporated a pyramid with a 8-6-3-2-1 rep count if I remember correctly. I can certainly see the anxiety grow for a big lift though, competition?

No, just a personal goal. And I know that this summer, when I would be scheduled to hit 405, I'll be traveling a lot and that could definitely mess up my training, so I want to hit 405 before the summer. I've been doing 5/3/1 for awhile now, which is all about slow and steady progress, so that's what I'm used to. And if I gotta stay patient for 405, so be it.
