Re: America..why won't you just ban the fucking gun?

That's where the cowards live. Thinking that death threats mean anything.
So good.
So good.
I don't disagree. But one key difference is that the kids at Sandy Hook weren't old enough to mobilize and speak out. What these kids are doing is awe inspiring.Orpheus wrote:The fact that this didn't happen after Sandy Hook (and that there are STILL Sandy Hook truthers) should make us all ashamed. WTF is wrong with our country.
Gee maybe exploiting children to push CNN's agenda is a bad idea for some reason.McParadigm wrote:Science has shown that the fastest solution to any problem is to obfuscate with moron-baiting conspiracies until the people disagreeing with you get sufficiently intimidated or shot.
C'mon man...nobody's exploiting these kids. Give them a little credit for fuck's sake. And regardless what kind of fucking idiot monster gun nut do you have to be to send death threats to these people?BurtReynolds wrote:Gee maybe exploiting children to push CNN's agenda is a bad idea for some reason.McParadigm wrote:Science has shown that the fastest solution to any problem is to obfuscate with moron-baiting conspiracies until the people disagreeing with you get sufficiently intimidated or shot.
Everyone with any media presence gets death threats. Of course there are monsters out there but anyone with a brain can realize they don't represent any sizable group.meatwad wrote:C'mon man...nobody's exploiting these kids. Not to mention, FOX had this young man on their own broadcast the night of the shooting. Was he pushing a network agenda then?BurtReynolds wrote:Everyone with any media presence gets death threats. And they are absolutely being exploited. They are fucking kids. Give me a break.
Well I'd argue that they're not "kids" as in they're 10 years old. They're young adults. And they are absolutely entitled to have and express an opinion on the matter given their experience. I don't see it as exploitative...they have a message and are communicating it. And communicating it quite well in most cases I'd add.BurtReynolds wrote:Everyone with any media presence gets death threats. I think this kind of sums up why there's been a comparative amount of flailing by the typical opponents of gun regulations and restrictions, whether it's them being crisis actors or being used by CNN or whatever it is. Opponents to gun control don't know how to respond to them because the usual easy go-tos (they're Democrats, they're trying to take your rights away, they're the biased media, etc.), don't really apply and are not sticking. And they're keeping this issue in the limelight whereas gun rights opponents in the past have felt that all they had to do after a mass shooting was wait it out and the coverage would dissipate within a week. That doesn't seem to be happening this time, and it's primarily due to these teenagers.meatwad wrote:Well I'd argue that they're not "kids" as in they're 10 years old. They're young adults. CNN news has included a clip in which the Broward County Sheriff at a public briefing revealed a uniformed armed deputy was at the scene during the shooting and stayed outside the building for six (6) miutes while the killer was shooting his former school mates. The report mentioned the deputy was there as his regular duty, and not as going to the school in response to shooting reports to the police. The report has it that the deputy has since resigned from the job.
any chance this will help eliminate the idea that shooters don't enter buildings if armed guards/teachers are present?Bi_3 wrote:dimejinky99 wrote:Apologies if posted already but
