Are you saying the movie is misogynistic because you think characters in it are misogynistic?
I was being lazy. The characters are misogynistic.

Pretty let down by Ford v Ferrari. It was...fine. Mangold is the definition of “fine.”

Obviously there's more to it than that -- the scene in and after the river is particularly great -- but I stand by my main point that it's about three emotionally selfish shit heads who want their mom to fix their problems despite her request for space.

Don't get me wrong, I love the movie, as I said earlier I think it's one of Anderson's most effective, and that's because the characters aren't so thinly drawn as in his more recent works...

But Joe, if you've seen the Royal Tenenbaums movie, imagine Gene Hackman's id divided across three individual sons who carry the same personality traits. And yet they are more sympathetic than Hackman's character for reasons I won't go into.
Ok, I'm tempted to not respond to this at all bc a reading of Darjeeling as a movie about three men who refuse to honor their mother's request for space is so simplistic and disingenuous that it kind of doesn't even merit a response.
Actually, no, I'm right. I won't respond to that. It is beyond hope
