Yeah.. Auto-tune is really convincing nowadays...
when I was working that world, me and my circle had a running joke about Autotune: "It could've happened."
The meaning was that if it was generally conceivable that a singer could have hit a certain note, or held a certain pitch for an extended amount of time in real life, then there was no ideological objection to using autotune to sweeten a vocal track in order to keep things moving. This is a very different use than just throwing it on a track and having it keep the entire vocal perfectly in tune.
Anyway, this is where I'm at with Ed and autotune. He's an amazing singer, whose voice has obviously seen better days. I've got no problem with them tweaking some notes here and there to make a session come together. I'm much more frustrated by the breathiness and weird syllable ticks he's employed to mask some of that aging, and I'm glad that he seems to be moving on from this at least a little bit.
Yeah probably. I don't know the song titles well enough yet but there are a few moments where the vocals sound Vitalogy-era. Really cool to hear that.
As far as ranking, I don't understand why it takes so long to rank these things. Maybe if I listened to Evacuation a hundred more times, I'd find a way to like it. But my opinion on everything from Yield to Gigaton is basically unchanged since first listen. The Vs. to No Code run was different, granted.

Invincible and Good & Evil are the standouts to me upon the first couple listens (along with Brother The Cloud). Really love the music to On My Way, but it's kind of just 1/2 a song/finale.

Fair
This is mostly good and sometimes great. Nice job, Eddie.

If there is a Gigaton-ish song on here, it's Power of Right.

I will almost certainly regret having said this once I hear the song, but I find this more endearingly (and knowingly) dorky than cringe.
