Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
edit - i should point out my entire collection is catalogged, not just vinyl.
Collection Value Range
Minimum: $26,871.06
Median: $39,530.14
Maximum: $61,170.55
i have benaroya and just got a colored pj20 in the mystery sale, but those don't have values and i expect would be the most valuable. median prices have the pink floyd 'pulse' box set at the top, followed by 'sevens', 'rearviewmirror', dave matthews band live trax 1, and david gilmour 'live in gdansk'.
ignoring side projects, soundtracks, and the like,
179 pearl jam items
121 r.e.m. items
120 pink floyd items
on another note, i just got a white whale - dave matthews band's 'before these crowded streets' on vinyl. it popped up on discogs for $150 and i decided to go for it. glad to finally have that one, it might be the last of my true white whales to acquire. the only other album i can think of is roger waters' 'amused to death' from 1992, and with the reissue coming out here soon, and acoustic sounds supposedly trying to make the vinyl issue just as good as the original, there may be no need to throw down for an OG copy.

it'd be interesting to try and offset those values with how much you actually paid for each record, and see how much overall gain you've had

I have some of mine grouped into folders in my collection, but you can also just search for an artist from within your own collection and that will show you how many results come back. So just search for what you suspect are the top ones and you'll see the hits that come back.kreng wrote: how do you find most by artist?

I want to take over my local record store. I should start working part time or something. Or lending a helping hand. SOmeday it would be nice to take it over and expand it to include like....in stores. Screen movies. Open Mic's. Something like that....

Anyone know much about the Kinks first four album reissues? Mono, stereo? Quality?
