He's become more of a businessman than an author. The name "James Patterson" on a book cover doesn't mean he wrote it anymore. It's really more of a brand, and he's got a factory of young MFAs 'collaborating' with him to churn out twenty books a year.

You should read The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. Finished it this morning and it's schmaltzy as hell but if you're in the right place it's great. The book even says at one point that sometimes you just find books at the right time in your life.

it was pretty good...the movie didn't change that much really, but it's a good, quick read
