Last time I was in England I was amazed to see that everyone brings their own bags to the grocery store (usually canvas, but sometimes just thick plastic). If you needed to use their bags they would charge you 5p for each one.
I buy the reusables at the grocery store. They're ten cents a piece so I don't mind buying them again if I forget to bring them back. Either way, I'm not loading landfills with the traditional plastic bags that are slowly killing us all.
