I'm extremely happy I'm letting my membership lapse, after over a decade. Pearl Jam hasn't played a "regular" Chicago show since 2009 (will have been over 5 years the next time) and no "regular" driveable from Chicago show since 2010, instead touring: Canada, South/Latin America, Europe, a handful of US festivals, a political benefit South America again, East Coast USA/Canada, West Coast USA/Canada, and FIVE Eddie solo tours. At best it seems they're doing Lolla and maybe a secret show at some place impossible to get tickets to in 2014. Through the secondary market I was able to attend Alpine and I won the lottery for Wrigley, but seriously, would it kill them to hit the United Center (or even better, the Allstate Arena) for one or two nights?

In any event, I was only able to get tickets to one of those shows, I went to one other buying on the secondary market. Same for the 2 Alpine shows.

And if I lived in NC I would quite the fan club too. If you haven't, I guess you're just a bigger fan than me at this point.

I should also note:

2003: Drove from Iowa City to: Champaign, Chicago, and Council Bluffs
2004: Flew to Boston, drove to St. Louis
2006: Drove from Cedar Rapids to Chicago
2007: Too broke for Lolla/etc., moved from Cedar Rapids to Peoria
2008 (EV)/2009: I was actually living in the Chicago metro area then
2010: Drove from southwest suburbs to Indy
2011: Drove from west suburbs to Chicago (EV), Alpine
2013: Far north suburbs to Wrigley

So 2 Ed solo shows, the 2009 shows, the 2 Alpine shows (only sort of), and Wrigley have been the only shows in my present metro area during my membership, and only three of those ("local" shows) were tickets purchased directly through 10c; I was shut out of the rest.

Make more money.

They probably work under the assumption that the current member will renew anyways. That way the money paid for the gift card goes to merchandise, or to a new regular payment ( new member who will presumably renew annually) as a new stream of income rather than replacing one that is already there( assumed renewal).

It's cause you can't actually "buy" a renewal anymore. You have to have your credit card on file with them, and they automatically renew it unless you specifically ask them not to.

I cancelled my cc earlier this year and when the renewal came up, I must have received a 10C email everyday for a fortnight. We tried to take your money. Please update so you don't miss out on...
