Goddamn shame they aren't on the road right now with this but holy hell once they finally are....
It would be interesting to hear them work through getting SBWM to "sound right" live. I'm sorry we're missing that process in real time. But maybe they'll nail it before they hit the road. And now I'm really excited to hear that song live.

The songs just sound extremely vibrant; it's always hard to read ephemeral qualities into music, as in "they sound really inspired," but it's hard to avoid it here. The band just sounds like it was aware they knew this was something different and a step forward, and it comes through in the playing, the arrangements and the production. I still am not sure where it lands in the discography, but it's undoubtedly their biggest accomplishment post-2002.
To me it sounds like the same band that made No Code, Yield, and Binaural, with influences from the other albums as well, but not to an overwhelming degree. Nothing short of a miracle.

This link worked without being logged in. It's not the normal livestream- you click on the icon for this specific segment. Apparently it's a free trial, so don't know if the whole thing will play, but so far so good. Stone clearly loves the hell out of Dance of the Clairvoyants, btw.

Stone: "Quick Escape: maybe my favorite track on the whole record."

Mentions that 7:00 is sounding good in rehearsals, "a special one to kind of share with other people in a concert... grows with people"

Well, my stream broke during 7:00, which is a bummer because I really wanted to hear Stone's take on the following tracks, especially regarding the Tom Petty influence on ND and the guitar craziness in TTLW (even though it started out as my least favorite song on the album, I have come around and now am in absolute awe of the blistering guitar solo- one of my absolute MM faves!)

No tom petty talk
And good talk about camerons odd ability to approach rhythms and guitar. Loves the lyrics.
