But he’s not really getting family time as a GM. He’s watching video all the time and going to tiny sweaty gyms all over the world to find the guy nobody else sees. My guess is that he feels like he can effect the team more from the personnel side than the coaching side in the NBA. It’s possible he just always wanted that job and that’s one of the best jobs in the game.

He doesn't have to be in the room with the players everyday dealing with their bullshit and I think that's the burnout. Plus while there is a ton of travel he can pick and choose which road trips he skips and he can send an underling to Croatia to watch some kid. Not every time but sometimes. Even 20% more time at home could be enough to make the wife and kids happy. This all feels like a band aid anyways. Brad might be willing to try this and see if maybe he likes it but with the Duke job open now this might not last long.
