So I had never fully listened to a Kanye record so I decided to play MDBTF to see what the fuzz is about.

Wow, it was pretty freaking great, I'm honestly surprised at how much I liked the thing. The second half of Runaway owned me.

Gorgeous sounds that way on purpose. Muted, distorted guitar loop and heavily processed, distant vocals. It's a great song but I'd say one of the weaker links on the album because it's not very dynamic sonically.

Yeezus and TLOP deal with addiction to sex and money and fame and power and commercialism while being pulled by a longing for something deeper and more meaningful. Love and God and ego and hope and despair and loneliness and oh my god there is so much going on.

Listened to TLOP again recently and it still holds up. Ultralight Beam never ever fails.

Yeah so the new mp3 I got is worse lol. Amazing the decisions some people make production wise. Really compromises his artistic credibility if you ask me.

But honestly I think Kanye is an ok rapper and a very strong songwriter. Hopefully he just keeps getting better.

Kanye is an incredible producer, and every sonic decision is made with purpose. But I do think Yeezus and TLOP are more focused and sophisticated.

My favorite is Dark Twisted...followed by TLOP. Both are brilliant.

Yeezus was solid. I listened to 80% of it.
