The Japan crowds were definitely more subdued. Also, if I remember, on one of the Aussie boots, Ed jokes about no one buying tickets for the Japan shows.

So, that would be really tough for pearl jam to tour there these days. No call and response, no yea yea yea's. What would Eddie do for 3 hours?!

The Nagoya show had a great improv before Immortality.

I think I'd enjoy gigs in Japan.

Almost every show I've seen in a big venue over the last few years has been ruined by some variety of audience misbehaviour.

Yeah I always find myself near the bro that just knows the chorus to Evenflow, but sings along to the whole song by throat mumbling like they think EV did in the early 90's.

I have generally had nothing but great experiences at pj concerts my entire life.

One of the best shows I've seen them play. The run of Whipping/DTE/Once was a great shot of energy. They came back dressed as the Village People for the 2nd encore (Halloween night) w/ Mike in bare-assed chaps... What a risky move considering a potential flare up!

I'm listening to the 10-30-09 show from the Spectrum boxed set. Debut of "Hold On"!

I'll be rolling out the Japan shows again in a few weeks. I always found these shows to be fascinating. The fact that some places were half filled, I remember Ed saying the weather in Japan was awful when they were there so the band got to practice a little rust away after the Aussie tour. These shows aren't prefect, but the energy level from them a silent/respectful crowd was great.

Wasn't there supposed to be a DVD from Yokohama?

I have Tokyo and i love it. One of my favorites...i still need to check out that aussie tour. 2003 is a tour i dont go back often.
