I get enough of real people in the real world. these types of stories are great because they speak to the sense of mythology in human nature, they're archetypal stories and need to follow the rules of that genre to evoke true significance in people. this story keeps pissing me off because they expect the audience to keep rolling through the story with or without every person that held importance within the storyline. that defies the whole purpose imo. what made tlotr great was the complete story arc that involved frodo and on a much more extended timeline, aragorn.
what's this offering other than dragons and a drawf?

I plan on watching next season, but srsly, all the people I gave ashit about are pretty much gone now so it's all a bit dissociative anymore

Oh,stop. I've never said I wasn't going to watch it, I just think all this show has going for it on the story interest part is who gets killed next...

and what was the whole point of stannis if all they end up doing with him is destroying his army, his family and his character altogether?

Arya has been my favorite since day 1. Big fan of Tyrion as well. Who isn't though?

I get that people get bummed when main characters bite the dust, and yeah sometimes it really sucks, but they do a great job of adjusting the narrative to make me pro- or anti- new characters as certain events happen.

That's what got everyone hooked in the first place when Ned got hacked. I'm surprised people are citing it as a problem with the show now.

Oh, but then some far country rubes (probably the ones that circled daenerys ) will figure out how to destroy all the white walkers, thus bringing us back to square 1 on not giving a shit about any characters.

Stannis was a tragic character compelled by a sense of duty, failed at that a few times and became desperate because of those failures. His last words echo his sense of duty by telling Brienne to do hers.

I watched the entire series in a couple weeks time last year, I didn't have anyone to bitch to about the killing off of edard stark

People aren't citing it as a problem "now". People are just getting fed up with it. And yes - I will watch season 6....

Also, yea, Stannis.....he went out like a fucking chump. At first I loved it because he became detestable recently but this was a huge storyline and his battle.....pfffft. Shit the bed. He gone.

Can I read the spoilers from a few pages back now, or is that book stuff?

i guess the point of stannis is religion's bad. and this doesn't mean you have to replace your kit harrington desktop wallpaper.
