I'm not quite sure what to think. I hope they didn't have to trade Norris Cole.

McDermott is a terrible defender. Pair him with Melo and Chicago's not gonna be able to stop anybody.

I can't see Thibs ever putting McDermott and Melo on the court together. Even if they were surrounded by Noah, Gibson, and Butler.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate the Bulls front office?

Love the Spurs pick. Anderson is gonna flourish in SA.

At this point I just assume anyone drafted by the Spurs will be good.

thing is i think dougie isnt a volume shooter, he just takes shots he can make. and melo while a ball stopper for the knicks can be a good passer it just seemed he got the ball in his hands late in the shot clock cause others didnt know what to do so they passed him the ball

I would think if Melo was coming McDermott would be going the other way. If not you can never have enough shooters. Bad individual defenders can be really good team defenders even white people.

I think McDermott could be a decent team defense kind of guy. It's not like Boozer was helping on that end either.

As mentioned earlier, McDermott is deceptively athletic. I feel like he won't necessarily be a liability with Thibs coaching him and Noah protecting the rim.

He can also score in a variety of ways. I don't think he will have a problem getting a shot off in the league.

James Harden is like Melo. He can defend when he gives a shit. He played solid D at OKC.

McDermott is gonna be undersized in the NBA and has limited quickness. This league is gonna eat him up. People seem to want to compare him to Dirk, but Dirk has like 6 inches on him and better footwork. None of those little moves he did to free up space in college are gonna work in the NBA. Several of the scouting reports on McDermott said, "He struggles against long and athletic defenders." Guess what, like 90% of the NBA can be described as "long and athletic."

He was Creighton's number one option and typically had the other team's best defender on him. As a role player who can make open shots and corner threes, he will be just fine.

Having little lateral quickness is usually a killer in the NBA. It means you can't close out on D and will have problems creating your own shot. You're right, he'll be able to knock down some open shots, but that's about it.

A lot of guys have had long careers doing only that.

If he turns into a Kyle Krover it's a great pick.
