Having lived with Neil's catalogue for a long time, I still don't much like EKTIN. I prefer the S/T album too.
I love ATG, though - I think it's one of his best.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills or something. Maybe it's because I got into NY by way of first Mirror Ball and then his Greatest Hits cd and that is basically EKTIN lite.

Listened to Sticky Fingers. I still think the Stones definitely are not an album band. Some of those songs were tough to sit through.

Yeah that's a good one (I'd heard a lot about it and was looking forward to hearing it). I can tell I'll get more out of it the more I listen to it.

I think Beggars Banquet is a great album listen, but otherwise I tend to agree.
I think that's a huge reason behind my dislike of the Stones as I'm very much an "album listener".

FYE was having a huge blowout sale online yesterday so I ordered among other things a used copy of "Some Girls." Better be worth my $4.

For what it's worth, I'm a moderate Stones fan. I'm mostly a fan of their earlier R&B rip-off stuff and that fruitful late 60's/early 70s run of albums that ended with a dip into Gram Parsons territory. That being said, I like Some Girls a lot. It feels so dirty and sleazy and plastic in a way that Mick and Keith could pull off well. "Faraway Eyes" is a bit out of place. Fun song, though.

I've been meaning to listen to Let It Bleed again, I suspect its their best album. Sticky Fingers is way up there, haven't heard Exile.
