Does anyone have a Trampled Rose Tee they'd be willing to part with?

I don't think I own enough Pearl Jam gear anymore to be a real fan.

Real Talk: I threw out most of my PJ tees. And I've seen one of the custodians in my building wearing three of them since I threw them away. Dude totally took them out of the trash!

Under the Blacklight is still one of my favorite albums. For personal reasons.

Rilo Kiley.

That's a name I've not heard in a long time.

Long time.

I love that album too. Screw the haters. The shirt I'm wearing is an Under the Blacklight one.

Have you ever heard the version of Give a Little Love that was on the advance copies of the album, but then replaced by the one with all the heavy synths and whatnot at the last minute? It's so beautiful.

you're right. I left out dog collars.

I don't agree with that position spenno. Not as a blanket statement. I'm not sure what the facebook post thing is referring to, but otherwise I pretty much am not judging the band as a band because of the merchandising decisions the business arm decides to make. At least none of the ones that they've made so far, since the critique of almost all of them seems to be that pearl jam is exploiting their fans by giving them things they want to buy that other fans (or ex-fans in some cases) don't think are necessary.
The point I was trying to make by way of the strawman picture is that what you wrote is a distortion of my post: nobody claimed Pearl Jam sucks solely because they make bad t-shirts or sell too many silly merchandise items.

My earlier position was simply that it's understandable that people will take those things into consideration, among other more important things like the quality of the music and live shows, when taking stock of how they feel about the band at this point in time. That's all.
And my post was just me saying that I don't (the merchandise). I wasn't distorting anything.
For the sake of clarity: what I meant by distortion is you wrote, in response to my earlier post, "I think I just don't judge a band by the quality of their shirts". This prompted my picture of the strawman as nobody had claimed that they do, that isn't an accurate summary of anything I'd written at all.

Later you said "I don't agree with that position spenno. Not as a blanket statement" and I can only presume you're again referring to the idea that people are judging the band on the quality of their merchandise. Again, I don't think anyone is - at least not to the exclusion of other factors.
stip wrote:It would be really interesting to figure out how many people are currently perfectly happy with the quality of the music and live shows AND upset by the recent business practices. I suspect there aren't too many, which is why I think this thread and these conversations are mostly a proxy for expressing unhappiness with the music.
There's obviously a pretty considerable crossover between people who don't like the band's current music and don't like these other things too but I don't think that's necessarily enough to conclude that the latter can be dismissed entirely; I think it's a genuine factor, just not a major or determinative one.

It'll be on the reissue, but with rerecorded vocals. Coke bottle clear.

It's amazing. I'll upload it and send it over to you sometime tonight. I just have to plug my external hard drive in. I never even listen to the regular album version anymore.

Yeah, but they'd obviously give all of their profits to charity.
