I think you were right the first time..doesn't sound like it to me.
The chorus sounds like it. Either it is Sirens, or Yellow Moon sounds far too similar.
It's Sirens.

Take away from video: now we know who "she" in Lightning Bolt is. She was not who I originally thought. Not sure anyone had this right...

She's a song. Watch the video again for details.

"If it's not gonna happen quick then I don't wanna do it, because it means there's another one out there that is gonna happen quick, and is gonna hit you like a lightning bolt."

That's a quote from Eddie, Backspacer era regarding the songwriting process...

As a song about writing, it's pretty successful really. Best use of metaphor Ed has given us for a long time.

I think you're right about the "inspiration" part. But, I think he alludes it's about songwriting when he talks about sleep in the video.

"with all the wild seeds she sows in your sleep"

For the record, I don't think it's is about surfing at all.

He uses the metaphor about surfing to talk about songwriting. It's like totally audible on the video. The song is primarily about songwriting and inspiration, fine, but it's imbued with surfing imagery as well.

All in all, this was pretty boring since we didn't hear anything new. I was really hoping for an MFS snippet.
the wtf bit was great. otherwise some nice footage that lost some of its impact because other things linked. Which, I suppose, is not danny clinch's fault, but I don't think this will be watched more than once or twice today

I refuse to think of LB as a song about surfing. Or even an unsurfed wave. I refuse.

It isn't about surfing. It's a metaphorically open song that lets you decide what it's about, even if it's primarily about writing songs and inspiration. It could be about four our five things and I don't think it matters. But the title came from Ed's surfboard and T-shirt, I reckon. On the PJ Unplugged video, Ed describes "Oceans" as "a little song I wrote about my surfboard", so Lightning Bolt is in good company.

True talk. Bad show, 10C. :shake:
I was just about to congratulate PJ for staying tight and not revealing in that video what we haven't yet heard.
Smart and well done

They cut away from everything one second after another and then we hear a question asked but either no answer or just a cut up few words of the answer. I get it was a teaser type thing but honestly I got as much out of the press photos for the album as I did this.
i think someone said that they read more extended clips will be released

Yep. This is where the title comes from. And it makes sense to have it as the title of the album too.
