There are a lot of racists, for example. that don't believe they are racists. Doesn't mean they aren't racists.

Donnie may not intellectually understand what he's doing on the same level that Rasha does. But that doesn't change the fact that it's what he's doing. He doesn't need to understand it that way. The shit's ingrained.

guys I 100% agree with all of this. The point I did a horrible job of making was that Dems and otherwise left-leaning people seem to be in the habit of overthinking a response to a man, and an ideological base, that has neither the inclination nor the wits to battle on those intellectual grounds.

I hate to say it, but the shit that has gone on this past week is probably way more apt to move the needle on voter sentiment than some well-articulated tweet series.

That doesn't undermine the value of Asha's thinking at all. I've been following her for a long time and always appreciate her insights. But it's 100% spoken to the choir, and probably isn't doing much to change public sentiment.

It's just a bummer that it takes blood and tear gas to get people to start thinking critically. But hey, if that's what it takes for my Instagram friends to stop posting about their favorite cocktails for a minute, so be it.

Of course not. But who is Asha again? You guys use real & RM names interchangeably, I get confused. Now, I've seen that name a lot - is that SBWM? And is that the old meatwad? And, she's a girl?!? Lol. To borrow from peeps, I just assume everyone here had a penis (except Knee Tunes, who I've seen referred to as a woman already, and pepperwhite). The rest of you are guys? (regulars) Just curious.

It's not either or, though.

And maybe there is value in educating and further arming the choir. Who says the twitter threads have to be about moving the opposition's needle? Sometimes it's about articulating it for your own team so that everyone better understands and can better fight against.

Been reading her texts for ~20 years (usually agree) assuming it was some dude from the west coast. I live 20 min from Yale. Pretty awesome.

Dems just need to put this on every and break available with two or three sentences saying this is how much trump detests you and your lives and the lives of black people.

100,000 dead Americans through corona
(Play clip of trump Mocking ‘I can’t breath’

Millions of Americans brutalised and dead Through racism
Finished with that shot of George Floyd
(Play clip of Trump Mocking ‘I can’t breath’

It applies to his corona shitshow and the current crisis.

He’s fucked. He’s gotta be
