The Lighthouse was just okay.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. His basketball movie looks good so it seems he get it latertragabigzanda wrote:Yeah it looks bad. Funny that Tangerine looked awesome though, but Soderbergh couldn’t pull it offVinylGuy wrote: Unsane

I have a good feeling about your reaction to Alien 3.Farmer John wrote:Aliens was good but I think I like the first one better. I prefer the small scale horror to the big action spectacle.
I'm hesitant to watch the theatrical cut after LV's comments. I need to get my hands on the Assembly Cut. Have you seen both versions?durdencommatyler wrote:I have a good feeling about your reaction to Alien 3.Farmer John wrote:Aliens was good but I think I like the first one better. Have you watched the FUBAR films?LoathedVermin72 wrote:Aww that’s a bummer, I also really like Goon but I haven’t watched the sequel
I'm just going to take the plunge with the theatrical cut since it's right there in front of me.durdencommatyler wrote:Actually, sorry, I was just reading about the differences in the two and I've seen Assembly.
I think you'll still get a lot out of the theatrical cut plus you can look forward to the Assembly Cut/Special Edition later on with some background.Farmer John wrote:I'm just going to take the plunge with the theatrical cut since it's right there in front of me.durdencommatyler wrote:Actually, sorry, I was just reading about the differences in the two and I've seen Assembly.
There's also a making of documentary "Memory: The Origins of Alien" which I'm definitely going to watch.
This one is tough for me but yeah Alien is superior. Still, Aliens is so fucking good and the best thing about it is that its a different beast. The same qith Alien 3, even though its has similar aspects than the first one.Farmer John wrote:Aliens was good but I think I like the first one better.
