Trumps stunt with the bible is appalling on another level.
We all know he’s never even as much as opened a bible in his life, but his whole messaging and his bases about the rioters and looters suggests they haven’t read their bibles either.

Trump enables the worst tendencies of his supporters. Having the president model to them that racism and division is okay is what they want. They know he is a grifter coopting their conservative values solely as a means to maintain power. Aggrieved conservatives have decided that's a fair trade off.

The Christian conservatives are very very important to Trump. They support him, he pays them back through putting conservative judges on the bench.
I have a feeling the bible photo op stunt might have hurt him more than helped him with this base though.
