A) The other side will have a more reasonable argument? (Or not have an even worse message)

or

B) All but the most passionate activists will not have moved on to a more marketable argument in plenty of time (like mid summer)?

I'm nervous the left will f*ck this up, too. But people keep saying that the left is doing it wrong, while polls show the right/Trump losing ground.

Just going off a hunch, but I think anti-Trump polling right now doesn't necessarily equate to pro-defunding sentiment.

Most protest movements aren't necessarily bound to their most radical ends. Most people who opposed the Iraq war wouldn't necessarily want Bush sent to the Hague. I'm as wary of the average American voter as anyone, but I don't think they're going to see a sign in a crowd and the President and equate the two.

I think we're talking about this because Trump is tweeting about it, because he needs something, anything, that will make people look the other way. While that gobbles up oxygen in the short term, I'm trying to think of Twitter messaging he's done that has turned public opinion around. It didn't work in 2018, and I'm not sure it will now.

I'm not saying Biden's a lock, but standing where we are right now, it's a pretty easy argument to make that you'd rather be in Biden's shoes than Trump's.

i dont think the sentiment will pull more people to trumps side but will get more trump supporters to get out and vote in the key states where he can make this a hugly talking point
