Yield was a February release. They’re batting a 1000 on quality February releases, so i think we can safely project from that sample side of one that this bodes well for the next one.Coach wrote:February is typically such a crappy month, cold, dark, snow, sleet, slush. February 3, 2024 is a Saturday so no birthday sharing with Yield. That’s the kind of progress we need around here.

When it comes to rumors this site has always proven to be the most accurate in the past...

he first single from the upcoming Pearl Jam’s new album should be out between the first half of November and the first half of December. The band’s 12th work, produced by Andrew Watt, should be released on February 21st 2024.
The first leg of the tour is rumored to start in March in the US, touching some East Coast states, then reaching Europe during the summer and hitting the West Coast next fall.
Our sources, who got the chance to listen to the new single, said it sounds a lot like the band’s first works, a track that would fit into Vitalogy at the front end of the album, with a hint of Riot Act.

Agreed. Front end of Vitalogy could mean something more akin to Not For You or Tremor Christ, which I think they could pull off, or something more like Spin The Black Circle, which would mean the return of squawky Ed. I absolutely love STBC, but i don’t think this current form of the band should be making songs like that anymore.tommy wrote:Hopefully that doesn't mean the return of squawky Ed

despite the vitalogy reference, it sounds like more of the same. no chances. no risks. paint by numbers.pearljamonline wrote:Our sources, who got the chance to listen to the new single, said it sounds a lot like the band’s first works, a track that would fit into Vitalogy at the front end of the album, with a hint of Riot Act.

"Sounds a lot like the bands first works" is pretty much what's been said about every new PJ album since Yield. It probably just means it's a rock song, but I wouldn't put much stock in it actually meaning anything.Fattie_Vedder wrote:Agreed. February 2024 will have it being about 4 years since Gigaton, roughly the same time that passed between Backspacer and Lightning Bolt. That 4 years between 2009 and 2013 felt like an eternity, but -- despite the fact that early COVID feels like ages ago -- Gigaton still feels like it just came out. Not sure if this reflects something about the albums, or just about the depressing passage of time as you get older.

High odds that "front end of Vitalogy" means SBTC high tempo spritz
Extremely low odds it means odd time signature dynamic Last Exit style rave-up

Honestly my biggest concern is it having a bunch of guest musicians all over the album, which seems to be Watts forte.
