Hard to believe Korver was a second round pick.

It is a fool's errand to grade a draft this early but overall I thought a lot of teams made good picks that fill needs. Can't wait until summer league.

About Smart...it's too bad he can't shoot, but really, these days, many coming out of college can't even make free throws, so hopefully he learns that skill. Happy for this guy - quite a story.

I don't see Rondo as a max contract player - the Celts don't see it that way either - so it does look like the beginning of the end.

I never really liked McDermott, whether because he's white, kind of slow, or that gay shirt he wears under his jersey. But everybody seems to love him. And there's reason. He's Kyle Korver, but so much more. He can actually dribble and make a play for himself or for someone else, post up, or pass. He's crafty, with a lot of offensive weapons in his arsenal. And he seems to run guys around the court, he has a motor, albeit he's not fast, more quick than fast. Underrated athlete. Defensively he's a lot to be desired but he'll be competent, especially with guys like Butler, Gibson, and Noah on the floor. It will all be about positioning for him on the defensive side, and he athletic enough to do well in small areas when the Bulls 'ice' the ball. He'll always have help. The game is going small and McDermott can fit in to this type of game. I don't know if that would be the case 20 years ago. Where does he fit on this team? Think Dunleavy with more play making ability and all of a sudden this pick looks very intriguing. McDermott is a guy that can receive the ball in any area on the floor and score. Something Dunleavy can't do, and actually something Rose can't do it either (he mainly scores through P/R and spot ups). It's a very unique skill. Dunleavy will most likely be gone. If defenses want to hide a point guard on him, he'll just post up and abuse anybody smaller than him. He's got that Dirk fade-away, and his release is quick. A Rose/Butler/McDermott/ Melo/ Noah lineup would be great if you want to go small. Thibs is going to earn his money this coming year on the defensive side. It'll be interesting, but i think it's necessary.

He just has too many offensive weapons to not be able to score consistently in the NBA, especially with Derrick Rose and possibly Carmelo Anthony on board. And being a coach's son doesn't hurt.

You're going to love Smart's competitiveness and attitude. I bet he'll learn to shoot a bit better. It seemed like he forced some shots being the number one guy at OK State. I forget who said it but some analyst said Smart will be at worst a rich man's Tony Allen. I'd take that.

I think it's a good move by the Bulls. They need offense badly, and trading off some of their defensive prowress in exchange for being even simply competent offensively is a move worth making. They can be the #1 or 2 defense every year, but if they can't score it will continue not to matter. And they should absolutely try to bring in Melo, too. The only reason they wouldn't is if Reinsdorf doesn't want to pay $16m to Boozer to go away.

It will be an interesting arms race in the East if the Bulls land Melo. Personally, i think the Heat would be better off getting a guy like Gortat and some depth. The problem with the big 3 opting out is that they are now under the cap, so they'll lose their Mid-level-exception, and bi-annual exception. They'll have the room-exception which is around $2million a year. It's not going to be easy for Miami to retool, especially if Wade takes more than he deserves.

I don't see how anyone could think trading the 16th and 19th pick for the 11th pick could be a "good move" in a draft this deep. Honestly, I liked Gary Harris more than McDermott.

If Kyle Lowry is really on his way to Miami, there's no way LBJ is signing somewhere else.

I'd call bullshit cause Lowry never had a big pay day and for him to take less is kind of crazy to me but Bucher tends to know his shit. It's one thing to have had that big contract and take less later but to take less without ever really earning and having the opportunity too make big money now is nuts.

It's a sign and trade though, so wouldn't Lowry still get a big pay day?
