It was ok, I liked the first one better. My kids like the new one better but to them new always seems to be better.

There was a fun part where there is a jailbreak and they play a kick ass country tune. I would love to have a full version of that song, it reminded me of a song that could be in the Cannon Ball Run or something.

What a great movie. Beautifully shot, some great scenes, some very cool dialogues...and damn, George C Scott, Jason Miller and Brad Dourif are terrific.
Still thinking about it. This one makes karras’ sacrifice of the first one more powerful and also sad. It also makes the demon more evil.
Scott is hilarious in much of the film and the scares really balance out what could fall in to a procedural escapade. The horror overall felt more menacing than the first seeing as the demon was pretty free to roam vs a more fixed conduit in the original. After the shitshow that was The Heretic I felt it was an apt end... and no, I'd prefer not to discuss Dominion/The Beginning or the television series, ever.
I fucking love George C Scott performance. His friendship with the priest is so fucking good...the dialogue is perfect. I love how this goes to some serial killer to Karras, to the relationship between Scott with him and the priest. Its so well done.

I remember watching The Beginning at the movies and thinking it was fine. Very well shot. For some reason, being im a big Paul Schrader fan, i havent seen Dominion. Ill watch it soon.

Is the tv series worth the watch? Its on Prime...
I decided to watch III last night as it was right there on Amazon and I really do tend to recall this after each viewing:

Queen and Slim. Really great.

Late Night. Fun enough. Emma Thompson is a literal goddamn genius who really doesn't get talked about enough. The movie is 100% with watching just for her performance.

I don’t get why everyone on earth seems to have a giant boner for Emma Thompson, who has never given a performance that has registered with me

I really want to see Queen and Slim.

I hated Late Night. I thought it was awful but you are right with Emma being a genius. She lifted everything around her...her scene talking about her husband? about her affaire? Amazing.

Read that it has a large following. I even think it started slow, but had an opposite curve compared to many modern movies, since each act got better than the last.

Her every beat is perfection. The script is very messagey and on the nose. It's sometimes awkward and often shallow but Emma treats it like fucking Shakespeare. She's so present and committed on every moment.

Its like she is on a different movie, a better one, even if she is not.

I agree that Emma Thompson gave a good performance in Late Night but that movie was nowhere near passably entertaining. One of the sloppiest paint by numbers jobs I've ever seen. Awful.

I watched Under the Silver Lake again yesterday and it was driving me crazy that the homeless king looked SO FAMILIAR and I couldn’t place him.

I just figured it out: he was David Yow! I had no idea Yow could act like that.

It was embarrassing. The movie is awful, i slept like three times, and didnt cared about 10 minutes in. Mindy Kaling is one of the worst comedian around these days. She is truly horrible.

I find her to be very hit or miss. Kelly Kapoor is awesome. The Mindy show is bad. Her book was funny. Her other appearances are not.
Yeah her work on The Office -- especially as a writer -- keeps her out of any kind of "worst comedian around" category. I don't love her as a performer. Agree with you there, trag, that she's hit/miss. I really didn't like The Mindy Show either. Bailed half way through S1.
