A 2CD mix would be awesome! I've always struggled to get into these shows, but there are a handful of one-off performances that I think are great. There's an electric "Thumbing My Way" from somewhere (I think Calgary) that is, to my knowledge, unique. The version of "Off He Goes" from London is also one of my all-time favorites -- some really creative phrasing from Eddie in the "he still smiles..." section of the song.

Listened to some selections from Holmdel 2003 last night -- I remember how special these performances of "Wash" and "Hunger Strike" felt when I first heard this boot (I ordered it more or less immediately after the show happened), especially after the Mansfield marathon and the really solid follow-up show in Hershey. They remain my favorite live versions of these songs. I'm blown away by how rich and clear Ed's tone is on "Wash," despite clearly being pretty wiped out.

This era of the band is just so special to me. And it never ceases to amaze me how much more I enjoy Pearl Jam when I'm not completely immersed in them.

‘03 tour was special and really the only time I went nuts and went to a lot of shows in one tour. I went to Albany, Noblesville, MSG both nights, Mansfield 3 and Hershey. The height of my fandom for sure.

I never liked Stone's overuse of the Fender Strat on this tour as some of the performances lack a little of their typical muscle. But there are some really good shows despite that and some sloppiness from time to time. I think Edmonton is damn good and the best show of the tour. Calgary, London and Vancouver aren't far behind.

There are some real dogs though - Atlantic City, Thunder Bay, in particular - and I'm still totally mystified why they went to all the trouble of rereleasing that awful Missoula show.

Great call on the TMW and Off He Goes. Pearl Jam in 2005 Canada felt like the perfect mix of the intensity of the 2000 tour combined with the confidence and happiness of the 2003 tour. Ed's voice was awesome, the guitars sounded great and the entire catalouge was at their disposal. I'm going to put on Hamilton!

Tampa 2016 is a powerful performance with some rare songs, and I'm jamming to it now

Sydney 2014. This one is bad and I didn’t remember it being so bad. MYM and Getaway are poorly played. He’ll even Corduroy gets messy.

That entire Australian Run in 2014 was pretty much forgettable. Sydney and Gold Coast are really bad...

Alpine Valley '98, Night 2. The source is a rip from the YouTube clip that went up a couple of months ago. I don't care that it's mono. It's just great to hear another soundboard show from that tour.

Houston II 2000: Hey! Someone actually set off an airhorn perfectly timed to the rest in the middle of "Insignificance." I don't know if I've ever noticed that in another show before.

Charlottesville 2013. Spoiler: it’s the only show I’ve been to. And I know I’m biased, but I’ve listened to a fuck ton of the bootlegs and I think it’s a damn good show. Other than the flub at the end of Whipping it’s a very tight show and I think Eddie sounds fantastic (for a post 2006 show).

Here's an update on that.

The tour has a fun spirit and there are a lot of great rarities, but there is some weird shit going on with the sound/mixes on the bootlegs - and the performances in general are mostly pretty rough and not as professional and workmanlike as 2000 or even 2003. So I'm having a hard time getting it up for it.

In addition, the bootlegs (as they are mixed) don't lend themselves well to the techniques that I used on the Europe 2000 comp. I can definitely improve the sound quality in general, but not so much the mixes/balances, which are often strange and even unpleasant.

If I were to do a 2005 comp, I would definitely sequence it logically like the Europe 2000 comp, which means mixing the Canadian and South American legs together. That might sound like a bad idea, but the sound quality and audience levels are pretty much the same, because I think the South American audience was mixed way down as to not drown out the band as they did on the 2003 Mexican boots.

Interesting take WCT. I actually put something together as an experiment a few years back, I can see what your saying, it feels like the 2005 tour, they probably rehearsed for a few days and went out. Unlike the first leg of the us tour in 2003 and most of 2000 where they clearly put time in before the tours started.
