I'm looking through all the extravagant vinyl and boxed sets that the Smashing Pumpkins sell. Do people buy these things? Nothing they've done since Mellon Collie deserves this level of majesty.

No link, unfortunately, it was a torrent.

All sorted.
The new "Le Deux Machina" is really cool. I'm so fucking pumped for this.

The M2 songs sound incredible. A lot of the previously unreleased stuff is forgettable, though. There's something like 17 new songs. 5 of them are really cool and the other dozen are pretty little acoustic jams. Cool to hear them, but you can see why they were left on the cutting room floor back in the day.
Then there's "End of the Joke" which is clearly just a new Pumpkins tune. The boring, squealy lead guitars. The shitty vocals. Did Billy think we wouldn't notice? Lmao.

Could someone PM where you found the M2? I haven't used torrents in over a decade, but I guess its the only way as there's no official digital download.
Edit: Thank you!!

Same here please! In a previous request I mentioned I have bought the reissue of M1 on vinyl but cannot afford the new boxset. Much appreciated if possible

I'm in love with "Blue Skies Wrought Tears", formerly just called "Blue Skies Bring Tears (Version Electrique/Heavy)".
The drums and guitars sound so fucking good. The vocals are still rough and raw as hell, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
It slaps so fuckin' hard.

Any way you can specifically let me know what's what.. im not familiar and it's way easier than listening to 17 albums
What songs are M2, what's unreleased until now

I found this comment:
"here is my track by track review (m1 tracks are ommited)
Le deux machina - people said this was the intro music for 2008 tour completely different to original deux machina
Gods promise - instrumental, do i hear "perfect" melody here? I think its a different arangement of "yet another promise"
Slow dawn - cleaned up, remixed, same recording as m2, improved
Atom bomb 1 - cleaned up, same recording as m2, remixed, improved
Glass theme - might be a different take all together, sounds better although i miss the more distorted vocals
Blue skies wrought - similar to m2 although might be a different take, remixed and improved, more distortion on vocals
Pale scales - unfortunately bass got replaced by synth, lead synth is a good touch,
Vanity - less reverb, more stereo recording
Autumn - same as demo but cleaned up
Machina Machina - piano, synths, beautiful ebow guitar, i would rather place it as the last track
Real love - vocals and synth more prominent
One moment - the only "new" song on the "main" album. Nice song, Machina's version of disarm
Atom bomb 2 - better mix than the m2 version, improvement
White spider - amazing New drums
One less moment - this is "dont wanna be your lover" from bootleg, cleaned up demo
Cash car star - better mix than original
Dross - New bridge, remix
Lucky 13 - less distortion on vocals
Hmm - nine inch nails version of of heavy metal machine. Actually appreciate the repeated tracks, this also has the riff from lucky 13. I wonder if someone wrote a track by track story of Machina, is this glass entering a goth night club?
Without you - very cleaned electric demo, sounds almost like a studio version
Winterlong - different arangement with some synth overdubs, better than the original
Laugh - cleaned up acoustic demo
If there is a god - great version, 2nd half is instrumental piano improv
In my body - better mix, probably rerecorded bass
Innosense - this is probably the best improvement over the original, really emotional song, electric guitars are more silent, no drum machine, piano more prominent. Acoustic guitar probably rerecorded. Didnt think about this song much before this version despite this being the same recording
Try again - m2 version, dont know if its a different mix to original. Never got people who said they liked this version more than m1 one
Drain - cleaned up acoustic demo
Yet another promise - instrumental, different arangement of Gods promise
Home - much better mix than original
Let me give the world to you - probably best version of the song so far. This is a remix of m2. I preffered adore version before
Soot stars - sounds slower? Appreciate the added bass in chorus
Machina theme - m2's la deux machina but with added keyboards. Probably would work better as an opener
Untitled - better mix of the original
Blue skies bring tears - this is the original version played live in 1999
End of the joke - New song. not sure what is happening here, instrumental sounds like from zeitgeist era, vocals are definitely post 2020
Rainy day song - great song, was this available before? James singing
Speed kills - Early version of m1 version
Sleeping giant - same recording as the leak although i think could have been improved even further"

I'm pumped that they're cranking Mellon Collie deluxe editions. This is making a few of the previous versions reach almost reasonable prices.

Also, B is nuts, there’s so much good stuff in the Adore/Machina eras.

Bigly. And a lot of the best stuff didn't even make it onto the main albums.

I'm so happy to finally have this. As I've mentioned before, getting a proper release of Machina II was pretty much the only thing I wanted from this band anymore. And now I have it.
I don't even know where to start... Listening to these songs really takes me back to the time when I was spinning both Machina I & II in my room constantly. These songs are so intertwined with how my life was back then, with all the dreams and expectations I had about life. I can't believe that was 25 years ago. I feel a weird mix of excitement, nostalgia and melancholy when I put this on.
There's a lot of stuff here. I really like some of the versions that I've never heard before, like Blue Skies Bring Tears (Early Version) and Glass and The Ghost Children (Pumkinland demo). The production/mixing/mastering (Trag help me out here I know nothing about this stuff) is quite inconsistent though. It seems that not much effort was put into many of the Machina II songs. Many of them don't sound much different from the original "bootleg". But I'm happy they're now officially released.
The new version of If There's a God is cheesy, and like someone said End Of The Joke clearly has modern Corgan vocals which really makes it noticeable how much his voice has changed - and not for the better.
I'm still digesting all this... Currently spinning this for the 2nd time and enjoying the version of Here's to the Atom Bomb. Anyway Machina I & II might be my favorite SP albums and getting this finally means a lot. Thank you for those who made this happen. I'd be happy to purchase this as a CD box if it ever comes out.

Great post, but I couldn't disagree more with this. The improved clarity is super noticeable on 95% of M2 tracks.
Maybe you need more time with it on quality headphones.

Would love a non-deluxe vinyl edition without the fancy packaging and demos for us poor; it’d probably still be 4xLPs and over $150, but I could dig that.
