recently started using this for stews and crockpot stuff..anyway, i'm a fan..i've used regular lard here and there in the past but this adds that extra bit of flavor...its like $30 but lasts forever

Tillamook cheddar is one notch above Walmart brand cheddar. It's just a slightly fancier version of garbage.

I have never had, nor considered having, Walmart brand anything, so I can’t compare. But I can say that Tillamook is pretty crappy.

We prefer Cabot sharp cheddar among the commercial brands.

a few years ago, my wife's older brother was in town for Christmas, and he was making something for himself. He gave us so much shit for having Great Value cayenne pepper. so much so, that I finally told him to feel free to go buy the very best cayenne pepper in all the land.

Great Value is Walmart's generic brand.

I've never had Walmart cheddar, but I can imagine what it tastes like. Really the biggest issue with American cheddar is texture. I've not found one that is crumbly. They all have that weird plastic texture.
