In and out of that. I had taken a year off shows of any grandeur and then booked a bunch this year: Warren Haynes Band (great), Springsteen, Goose, and Phish. Not sure how often I will ultimately go after that, but I guess I did catch the bug.Kevin Davis wrote:Same!LoathedVermin72 wrote:I would love it if the E Street Band played in my living room!
I've lost most of my urge to see concerts period, but I could be swayed to go see something small and low-key if the vibe, price, and location were right. But I'm confident in saying that arena/stadium shows are a thing of the past for me. That type of experience just isn't what I want to spend my spare time and money on at this point in my life.

Re: Upcoming concerts
I just found out right now that The Wedding Present is playing Seamonsters (one of my absolute favorite albums of all time) in its entirety tonight so I am going to that. So happy it's not sold out and so happy I happened to look at Bandsintown today. Would have been crushed if I found out this happened later.

Failure announced a tour but I looked up their recent setlists and they barely play anything from The Heart is a Monster or In the Future... so I think I'm out. Frustrating those albums are not more embraced.

Re: Upcoming concerts
The support act were a lot of fun though, Perth's own Glam Funk Band. I got to thinking how "headliners" such as Boney M are really on a hiding to nothing though. The support act can play all the fun, funky covers they want, everyone knows them, zero expectations, just fun. But Boney M are limited to their own stuff, and after Rasputin and Ma Baker what else is there? No one is there for Boney M deep cuts.
I read into it afterwards, only one original member on stage, funnily enough the one whose vocals were cut from the original recordings as a production decision. She then sued for the right to tour under the Boney M banner and obvs won.
I wonder how lucrative the touring life is in that situation. And can it possibly be worth having to put on the exact same show with the exact same songs - no interpretation required, play them straight at all costs - night after night?
And then some prick is bagging you out for sucking on a random internet message board. Ouch.

If I'd known earlier, I'd have tried to go, but now I probably can't make it. Bummer.
Maybe unsurprisingly, the Adelaide show got canned and never happened.zeb wrote:The venue choice in Brisbane is a bit unusual, not sure on how legit the promoter is for this tour.

It was my fourth time seeing him, and it didn’t disappoint. Jim White was on drums and he really stole the show.

Jim White is excellent and often steals the show.
I saw DIIV last year and they were incredible. Very jealous.
