Skate Kitchen.

So, there are some gorgeous frames...some beautiful moments. The main girl is good with the skateboard...but we got what? a very very light and thin and almost obvious look at a group of skateboarders full with cliche moments like hip hop, talks about sex, grown ups who dont understand....at this point ill take this movie because of some of those beautiful shots.

If i want to see a real good movie about skaters with something to say, Minding The Gap is the correct one.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Not much of a movie buff, but Annihilation & Arrival are two recent movies I can watch over and over. Also, I liked Shape of Water a lot, because someone pitched it to me as a remake of the 80s movie "Splash" which I loved, and it totally is.

yeah, but mid-tier Coens is still god-level for most anyone else. Imagine Zack Braff making a movie this good.
I literally cannot.

One of them is great -- like top tier of its genre great. The other is a well-meaning but ultimately unfortunate misfire on every level.

The story Arrival is based on is great. I do think Arrival offers more and is a better movie by any objective standard, but I enjoyed watching Annihilation.
