I know this, but in that section, sometimes he moves away so much that he's completely inaudible, which I'm sure is not the point.dimejinky99 wrote:You move away from the mic on big notes so as not to distort or blow the feed.

His voice is usually big enough for him to be audible. Ive seen him do this countless times and I can always still hear him.

I agree he moves away far too much at the end there. Either that or he's just inaudible because of the quality of the recording. I'm going to rewatch that video to see if I remember stuff correctly.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

I thought he moved away from the mic to look at his guitar because he needed to concentrate on that.

Yeah, I think many of the problems will be sorted when he feels good about playing and singing at the same time. It might happen, it might not... at least if it doesn't I now have the studio version to fill in the psychological gaps!Mike wrote:I thought he moved away from the mic to look at his guitar because he needed to concentrate on that.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
He does this during the chorus clearly but not so much that we can't hear him (though that's probably why the timing is a bit off). In the end, the camera shifts to Mike during the solo so you can't really tell but it's probably a combination of Ed moving away from the mic and being distracted because of his guitar playing. It's no coincidence that the parts where he sounds best are when he's only singing and not playing. This includes that last verse before the outro.

Today on "This Needs To Fucking Leak", one RMer's early morning sleep turns fitful when he dreams he's hearing the music to My Father's Son, then struggles to return to that dream to hear it a second time.

I had that once or twice before. Never made it back...
And I am halfway updating the 'listening parties reviews combined' thread. Slow, but I hope to finish it before a leak.

still searching for a link to the Ontaria soundcheck. I thought I had seen it as a youtube video somewhere...

I'm really excited about finding out what that Vine clip was. Sounds really nice.

I had a dream once where pearl jam declined an induction into the RHOF, and I was surprised and a little impressed.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
So is that an actual thing, like MENSA, with an induction ceremony / process? I thought it was an abstract concept until RM started to talk about it so much. If it's a real thing, have PJ already made it into it and accepted the invitation, or are we still waiting to find out whether they will?stupidmop wrote:I had a dream once where pearl jam declined an induction into the RHOF, and I was surprised and a little impressed.
