- Oof is it often awkward and heavy-handed in its messaging. There are moments that feel like the screenwriters literally wrote "INSERT MONOLOGUE WHEREIN JOKER EXPRESSES THE FILM'S THEMES IN THE MOST OBVIOUS AND EXPLICIT WAY POSSIBLE."
Yeah it could have been more nuanced but I’m not the one out here making movies so I’ll just shut my pie hole about it.

I think I'll go watch this again. There's nothing else worth seeing.

Occasionally Mrs. Bam brings up the idea of going to a movie. For the last 2-3 years I can’t remember a time where I even considered saying yes.
Then she asked last weekend and I was like “Joker”

I can easily picture bammer being that guy that goes to the "Joker stairs" in the Bronx for some sweet pics of him coming down them.

If you want to see an Oscar-worthy movie about a guy descending into madness, skip Joker and go see The Lighthouse instead.

Finally saw this now that I have so much extra time. Phoenix was very good, of course, and it's not that I didn't like it but now that I have watched I don't feel like I need to see it again.

Yeah I pretty much feel the same. Tried to watch it again recently and wasn't much into it. Just feels unnecessary.
Recently watched Social Network for the 'nth time after a long while and it holds up very well. I watched it this time as if it were a horror movie and it works. It's so scary on many different levels.
7.56/10 sprites.
Recently watched Shazam! for the first time. Touched me on 3 different levels and I cried, very entertaining and surprising. Reminded me of 80's kids movies with a modern flair. 7.36/10 siblings.
Planning on watching Hidden Gems soon. I hear it's amazing from 8 different directions, but the story and actor do not sound appealing at all. I still must watch it though because all the people talking up the hype cannot be lying to everyone, who are also hyping it, too.

About 85% of that post should've gone on a different thread
