Despite the coronavirus outbreak having hit steel production, these have been kept idling and are gearing up to restart, on the back of major Chinese stimulus.
As one analyst Samir Madani noted: “The plant needs to be fed around the clock or the iron inside the kilns will solidify. They have large heaps of coal to do that. What I can see however, is that it has intensified towards the end of the Lantern Festival period; indicating that production might be nigh
Obviously, no one knows for sure what's going on, but more information is a good thing, right?
Also, when I searched for "coronavirus sulfur dioxide" the top articles were from less than reputable sources (metro uk, daily mail..
Etc)

Agreed, it's likely industrial activity. I highly doubt it's from burning bodies. Given the ability of satellites to photograph that area, there is no way that could be kept secret.

Pity PJ doesn't seem to have hardcore fans in China. Another perspective would be nice here.

yes the article that quoted the crematoriums stuff is from a bitcoin site, ccn.com (which is why I addressed it to burt bc he loves that shit)
regardless, the real body count is def way higher than reported bc the communist chinese government lies about everything and is especially incentivized to lie about something like this

2009 China was 8% of global GDP
Now it’s 19% of global GDP.
The knock on of this virus if it continues is supply chains get hit as a massive amount of them depend on China.
This then has immediate knock on for the ever delicate stock markets and big corporations of course.
And apparently this is far far Bigger than the Chinese are letting on.

Mrs. Bam has a friend whose family is in Wuhan.
She says the death toll is significantly higher than what China is letting on.

This is sounding worse every day. The manipulation of numbers, specifically who is counted as a case, was changed days ago. Go figure, since then the reported daily cases have gone down.
The change they made was if you test positive, but show no symptoms, you are not counted as infected. Seems like a bad idea to me!
Here's an article current article that highlights why this is going to be such a problem.

Is anyone else doing some prep?

Also, my brother told me yesterday that he has a friend of his family that lives in Beijing. They are in a soft lock down. It's not mandatory that they stay inside, but it was recommended that only 1 person leaves the home at a time to get essentials. I'm sure they won't chance pushing it too with people disappearing that don't obey.
Beijing is not in an official lock down, but they, and other cities are likely where the "250 million in quarantine" figure is coming from, and that's truly terrifying. That's like 3/4 of our entire country.
The incubation period is completely unknown. They said it was up to 24 days, now saying it can be over 42. This is going to get really bad I think!
