the intro and the first verse of this song are also pretty great. I love the way he growls out the first word

It reminded me of Woman by wolfmotherMs Harmless wrote:that outro needed to go round one more time, but it is very Present Tense, so maybe they just thought "we've already done that"Fattie_Vedder wrote:Confession: I haven’t read the posts about this as I’m jumping into it late.
First listen, I really liked this. 3rd listen: I love it. Love how it shifts and changes unexpectedly. Love the breakdown in the middle, love how Eddie painfully sings “all the answers will be found in the mistakes we have made”; beautiful lyric.
Love the very (assuming) Gossard notes right before and after Mike’s solo. How it switches from somber and reflective to upbeat and energetic seamlessly.
That fucking 5 second outro. Why couldn’t that be a longer jam?!? Fucking love that thing.
did they purposely put wolfmother before wolfmoon?

I love the music on "Whoever said its all been said" SO MUCH MORE than on "gave up on satisfaction" (not the vocals, just the background chords and sound)

yup - seconds 1-58 and about 2:30 to the end are pretty great. But that 90 seconds in between are just okay.

There's so much life and bounce to this song, I'm shocked. Those last two minutes have to be up there with the most head-bopping moments this band has ever produced. Ed just owns this. I love it.

Re: Who Ever Said
I dig most of the song, until Ed threw out that "Sideways thoughts" line. That part sounded like Supersonic or something and feels pretty out of place. The rest of the song is pretty solid, but not really among their best rockers. I do very much like the bridge up to the end, he channeled some classic Binaural era stuff there, felt like the middle part of Insignificance.
I'm feeling a strong 3 for this one.

by the way, that guitar in the background at about 3:08 is very johnny greenwood-esque.

This song never really lives up to the intro which is awesome but I still really really like the song...easily could rise up the ranks

I'm in.
It just clicked for me in a serious way. Had my first listen with a lot of attention paid to the lyrics.
Jesus fuck, indeed. So so good. The melody after the first chorus and then that lead break.
